Matthew 18:10-13 is a very meaning full passage. This passage can be taken in many different ways. If we apply the parable to our lives, we are the lost sheep and God is the sheppard. If we go astray on the wrong path and stop following Jesus ways, He will try everything he can to find us and to get us back to him.
Many times in our lives we would of gone astray from Gods ways, but God constantly brings us back to him and he brings us closer to him every time. God will never stop trying to get us back until he succeeds because he loves and cares for us so much. |
We can see this sort of same example in Luke 15:8-10 where Jesus talks about the lost coin. If we are that lost coin and God in the person, he will do anything to find us and bring us back to him and then he will rejoice with all his angels and saints in heaven. |
There are many ways we can recast this Gospel into a modern setting. For example, the people who live out in the country and who don't have access to internet are the lost sheep. We are the sheppard, trying to help them have and experience what we have.
We are trying to help those who cant experience what we experience everyday but someday, we will succeed and help those people in need. Just like the sheppard eventually found the lost sheep. In many ways, we can be the sheppard and different people are the lost sheep to us. But there are times when we can be the lost sheep and other people can be the sheppard who helps us along the way. |
